Happy Mothers' Day!!!

So today was Mother's day at my church and service was thebomb.com....lol. In other words, I enjoyed it. However today's sermon ministered to me deeply.
The main character in the message was a woman that we overlook when mentioning the great women of the Bible. Her name is Jochebed, the mother of Moses. She epitomizes the spirit of true motherhood. She had her son Moses, when the Pharaoh had sent out a decree that all Hebrew baby boys should be thrown into the Nile. This was because he had heard the prophecy that the man who would come to deliver the Isrealites from captivity would be born at the time. When Jochebed had Moses, she tried to keep her baby alive so she hid him for three months and when she could no longer hide him, she put him in a basket of bulrushes and set him among the reeds of the Nile, she then asked her daughter to follow him and see what will become of him. Now my fellow mothers, imagine how this poor woman felt, setting your child adrift on a river, not knowing what will happen to him.I will weep buckets...but Jochebed trusted God and of course Jehova Shammah, came through for her and sent the Pharaoh's daughter to save him. She even got paid for caring for her own child.( Read Exodus 2 for the whole story )
As mothers we face challenges all the time, sick children, financial difficulties, stress,  work challenges, depression, unhappy marriages etc . Whatever your case, God is on the throne...let that problem adrift like Jochebed and call on God...he will surely show his power. You can't do it alone, the Lord wants to walk you through this journey. You need his grace to care for those babies. Meanwhile celebrate yourself today, You are amazing, strong and beautiful....you are nothing but a hero. All those sacrifices that you make must count in the future. The lack of sleep, your flabby belly and breasts, the pain of pregnancy and childbirth, your catering for everyones needs at the expense of your own, my darling...one day, your babies will surely rise to call you, blessed. Happy Mother's Day!
