Gethsemane

Why don't we take a walk to Gethsemane tonight? It is Holy Thursday and Some thousand years ago Jesus was in deep agony, to the point that he asked that the cup of suffering waiting  for him should pass over him. However, he submitted himself to the will of his father. The Bible says his swear was like drops of blood and he prayed with a broken heart.
Isn't it amazing that Jesus was afraid? His human nature almost failed him for he said in Matthew 26:41, that indeed the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. So that puts him in the position of being the best advocate for mankind.  He knows. our fears, weaknesses and he understands our human nature perfectly.
He even sought the support of his disciples, he must have been broken only to return to see them sleeping, he asked Peter,“So, could you not watch with me one hour?
Jesus understands that we cant face the trials of life that sometimes we need suport, so he is the greatest support system you can have. He is waiting to hold your hand right through the situation and Hey! He never sleeps, he never slumbers...so he will be there anytime you call on him. He understands because he has lived among us and he has been like us, so do not hesitate to call on him.
So let's go and tarry awhile Gethsemane tonight....we are not going to comfort him through the agony.....he is Lord of all now, rather let's go and show our gratitude and appreciate his Passion. Let us ask for the grace to face our trials head on, with total submission to God's will, that he will teach us to pray and call on the Father like he did and always remember to fix our eyes on the crowns of glory he has prepared for us.
